Session Description: In this presentation in the Fentanyl series, we will hear from two Harm Reduction agencies that are actively working on reserve to decrease the impact of illicit Fentanyl and other street drugs. Harm Reduction is an approach to working with drug users that does not demand total abstinence. Harm Reduction is increasingly being adopted worldwide as an effective way to decrease the impact of drug use in communities. The presenters will speak on their practical experiences implementing Harm Reduction activities on reserve, including lessons learned from nearly one year of Take Home Naloxone kit distribution and associated awareness and training activities. Common concerns related to Harm Reduction will be addressed, and practical suggestions will be given as to how to implement effective Harm Reduction interventions on reserve.
Presenters: Stacey Bourque, Executive Director ARCHES and Melissa Byers, Interim Executive Director HIV North Society
